As I have stated before, breakfast in our house is everything. This morning we had the best bagel sandwiches ever. We added cream cheese to the bagel with lots of fresh pepper so it was sort of a peppery cream cheese mix. When everything is hot, the juices from the meat and tomato mix with the cream cheese for a messy bit of heaven on a plate. We made our own sausage patty from Jimmy Dean sausage but that is me. The others in the house used either pepper bacon or slices of ham instead. They are all good choices. Add cheese to your egg when it’s hot to melt it and don’t forget not only some tomato (I like 2 slices) but salt and pepper your slices and let them sit a minute first. Don’t forget your many napkins and a big glass of juice.
A few steps to take:
1. Slice your tomato first, sprinkle with salt and pepper and put aside
2. Take 2 oz of cream cheese and soften. Mix in 1/2 tsp of fresh ground pepper
3. Toast your bagel, spread cream cheese on each half and add the tomato slices on each side
4. The rest is up to you. Add egg, cheese, bacon, sausage …. the list is endless.

okay…I’ve had a similar type and loved it. The ones I’ve tried were fresh baked onion bagels…smothered in cream cheese and topped with a sausage patty. The cream cheese melts into both the bagel and sausage and melts in your mouth. I like your addition of pepper and think you’re onto something with the tomato. I wonder if you’d like it on an onion or other savory type bagel?
I actually am not one for flavored bagels although I do enjoy an asiago cheese one from time to time.
